Mountain Biking - So I took some pictures of my bike.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I don't think I've posted any pictures of it before. I took it out riding in the rain earlier, and just finished cleaning it up... Here it is :)
2004 Kona Scrap with some upgrades:
X.9 drivetrain (shifters, rear derailleur, casette, chain)
XT front mech.
Avid mechanical brakes
body geometry saddle
Avid flak jacket cables (they look badass up close)

I was riding it uphill on the way back to the trailhead, that's why the seat is way up there. I dunno, maybe I have extra long legs or something.

Here is a way to avoid having the seat that high, get your butt off the saddle and ride standing. It will also make you much more faster.

The seat is not THAT high. It's about even with the bars, just like on every XC bike... it makes sense to me since I was essentially riding XC on the way back to the car.

The front end on that frame looks pretty beefy...do you jump it, or more XC?
Also, where are the good trails in Sacramento (you're in Sac, right?). I'm in the East Bay.

It's my only bike, so I do a bit of everything on it, from urban/skatepark stuff to a bit of XC and everything in the middle.
And there aren't any good trails in Sac, I usually drive up towards Tahoe... there are a bunch of trails around Nevada City and up near the lake.

Not much XC experience here I take it.

Okay...I've been having this question for soooo long. Although this is unrelated. Is it worth the couple extra bucks to get a scrap/shre /frame instead of the STP 2/1 frame? (This includes all the components which are just about equal, comparing shred/stp2)
