What's the difference between these (and will any not work with a 3x9 setup)? Shimano doesn't differentiate between new Tiagra 45xx products on their website.

ST-4501 and ST-4503 are the part numbers for the left lever set. The right lever is ST-4500. For a triple you need the ST-4503.
