Like the title says, I've been looking for a bolt to get my 2008 Fisher Rig's EBB tightened up again. The shop where I bought the bike say that it'll be a week or two before they can help me, and I've been going around town, checking out bike shops and hardware stores with no luck.

Some light internet searching led me to BoltDepot.com, and wouldn't you know it, they have exactly what I need and it would cost me like $0.40 per bolt, but they don't ship to Canada.

Any suggestions?

Ace Hardware here in the states has a good selection of metric bolts. I think they have locations in Canada too, or at least ship there...

you can try the quincaillerie Harsupco, 8330 St-Laurent, montreal, they have all kind of metric bolts.

Acklands-Grainger or Fastenal? Not sure if they'll sell individual bolts, but it might be worth asking.
The item you're looking for is officially referred to as a "metric socket cap bolt" by fastener people.

Thanks for the replies!

@Torchy McFlux: Fastenal doesn't appear to have what I'm looking for and Acklands-Grainger seems to deal in quantities approaching the thousands... besides, I couldn't find what I'm looking for on their website anyway.

@ValVal: thanks for the heads-up! I'm going to go check them out right now. It's always particularly good to find a really well stocked shop around town.

I'll let you know later if Harsupco actually had what I needed.

Wow! Harsupco is an amazing find. It was worth snapping that bolt just to have the opportunity to discover such a well stocked hardware store. Simply Awesome!

I bought five bolts; should last me for many years to come. Tax included, the total came up to just over nine dollars. On my way home I stopped by the boutique where I purchased my bicycle to tell them not to bother anymore and they told me that they hadn't even heard back from the Fisher rep... Who knows how long it might have taken to get my bike in working order if I'd left it up to them.

That can be the trouble with many bike shops - not being able to think outside the bike world supplier box.
FWIW - Fastenal carry's lots of things not in their catalog - I always call or stop in the local one. I bought my M10 RD hanger straightener bolt and tap from them.

Haven't found any great local sources of fasteners in Indy.
Bolt Depot is a fine internet source for what can't be found locally.

mcmaster carr has them, but they are $13.40 for a 25 pack. part number 91292A413. But I'm sure you don't want to buy 25 of them.
