Yep. A stunningly beautiful array of overly technical and awesome rainforest trails. I personally have the above picture for a desktop. I love sections like that :)

That website makes me want to move to Canada.

Great looking trails. Now for the exceedingly naive question. Are all of the rides down hill? from the one map I checked out (Cypress Hill), the trails appeared to be one way with no loop. It also appears that freeride gear is the gear of choice. Are there any XC style rides?

There are shuttles up but a lot of the riders pedal up the mountain to get to the trails. Some of the ones on cypress are in fact xc. They are just very exposed and technical so wearing armour is more or less required. Some are very steep and technical requiring full on dh gear. Some of the stunted trails are obviously freeride specific. But really the reason why stunts started was to stop the erosion cause by riders. Now it is more than that, but the practice still stands for enviro protection. If you saw the north shore (sea...mountain) there is no casual rides. You can't just go out and ride for the sake of riding. Very little easy stuff in the area. (cypress is a BIG mountain ;))

Its what make the lowermainland of bc so technical. An average rider in bc is technically more skilled than most. That and...WE LIVE IN A RAINFOREST....(it isn't humid. Onterrible is humid...bc is wet...imagine a cooling mist over heavy air)

Honestly, on a section like that i'd end up slipping ont he root the rear end would hit that tree on the right and then i'd fall and smack my head on the rock in the bottom right-hand corner. I suck that much.

I'm actually okay on roots and rocks. Its those damn water pipes (not water bars) Those big bronze pipes that run water up and down the mountain. I slide on those every time.

Honestly - yes, I'm planning on doing that once I graduate, if I'm able to find a job there.

I like the interactive mapping...a really useful feature for finding trailheads, etc.
