i came across a guy asking $750 for an RB-1,,,,is this in the ballpark? pix showed a very sharp, but definitely patina'd, all original bike. but $750?
what's the consensus?

Given the Bridgestone cult, yeah, that's a typical price. BUT: you can get a DeRosa, Merckx, Colnago, etc for the same money, and I doubt that anyone would claim that an RB1 is in that class.

I would have to agree, especially if the bike is not really clean

I helped a buddy buy a very nice 1983 or so Colnago Super a week ago. He paid $525 and it was sharp.
I have owned two RB-1's, and while they are very nice, I would not trade them for a Super.
Buyers' market rules right now.
Look, there are so many deals out there right now, just stick with it for a bit if that RB-1 isn't spot on.

Once you hit $750 territory for an RB I would expect it to be EXTREMELY nice condition. As described I would say the price is on the high end and like others have said there are other choices at that point.
Pictures would be nice thought. :)

The bike market is in shambles....I wouldnt get near a non-Italian for that price.
$500 max and it better be pristine.

$750 sound about right for EMV (ebay market value)
