Hi,
As of lately, I've started hearing a clicking noise from the rear wheel. Here's the evidence:


It happens also if I don't pedal;
It happens once per revolution of the wheel, but it skips some times;
If I shift my weight forward, stepping out of the saddle and leaning as much as I can on the handlebar, the noise will stop.


I have lubed the intersections of the spokes to no avail. But actually, despite the lubing, if I squeeze the spokes together, some of them will click badly, showing friction, instead of smoothly sliding on eachother thanks to the lubricant.

Any idea of how I could fix this?

Is this a new bike or wheel, have you had the wheel checked for loose spokes / uneven tension after break-in period?

This is a new bike, I have done about 1000km on it. No I haven't checked the wheel. This is a hybrid bike bought at a shop in Annankatu, in Helsinki. Do you think they will service it for free because it's the first service?

Regardless of whether it's a first service, they should attend to that wheel. A properly built/tensioned wheel will not do that.

Do you think they will service it for free because it's the first service?I'd take it back there and have them look into it. Usually both shops in Annankatu strongly recommend a tune up for the bikes they sell within 300-500 kms, just to tighten all the bolts and nuts. It's either free or at discount, depending on how much you bargain when you buy the bike. Drop a PM if you want to go through this in Finnish.
