Hi there,
I live in Auckland, New Zealand. i've been hanging around this forum for a month or so and found it very useful.
I'm a 48 year old male. In January I reached a goal I didn't want to get to, 102kgs (225lbs). I decided to do something about it, so I cut out junk food, booze, snacks between meals and joined a gym. I loathe the gym, but it was/is a neccesity. In March I decided to add more excise to my regime so I got a Giant OCR 2 off a local auction site and started riding to the gym, which is only 3 miles (5km) each way, but reasonbaly hilly. I quite enjoyed it (much more than the gym) but had to stop due to winter and darkness. A month ago I took my bike to work, knocked off at noon and rode it home (wasn't up to riding there and back!) which is a rural hilly 28km (17 miles) that took me just under an hour. Myonly other ride was last weekend, 44km (27 miles) which I also enjoyed. I'm going on another this Sunday, looking forward to it. Cycling, diet and going to the gym for an hour and half five nights a week has got my weight down to 83kgs (182lbs), I'd like to lose a bit more and improve my overall fitness/muscle.
Other interests? Main one is hot rodding, I have a mild custom 1962 Ford Thunderbird. Yep, a gas guzzing V8 and a bike, an unusal combination I guess :D
Cheers!
