Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Yeah, stupid question, but that's what Foo is for.

I don't recall reading anything about my hp desktop having a weather station in it, I don't live anywhere near a weather station, airport, or any of those other "official" collection sites, so how does the weather gadget know that it's 91 outside my window back here in the holler? Just wondering...

it doesnt. it is using your zip code to pull info from weather.com or somesuch or getting data from a weather station close to you. On weatherbug.com, you select where you want your readings to come from.

The government is watching you through your desktop weather gadget.

I made a recent discovery, my office has their own weather station. It's in the corner of the parking lot on a tall pole. The info is on wunderground.com, so I get immediate weather info taken from right outside my office!

We're a property insurance company in Florida, so immediate, detailed weather updates are a must for our "technical operations center".There's a NWS station and antennae mast outside my window. I have to wear a tin foil hat when I sit at my desk.

A tiny meteorologist lives in it.

A little invention (invented by Al Gore, of course), called the internet. You may have heard of it? You may even be using it to *gasp* post on Foo!
