Introductions - Greetings from Eastpointe,Michigan

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm Tony.I just joined the Forum and am hoping to link up with other Motobecane Grand Jubilee owners.Mine's a silver '79 and is undergoing rehab at a LBS as I write this.I wanna get back to riding it after too many years of not riding and I hope my flaky knees or my age (56) don't betray me once I hop back on my cycle.
I'm considering picking up another bike another bike to spell off the wear and tear on the GJ and I'm undecided whether to get another old "10 speed" (yeah,I'm dating myself) or pick up a new or newer "hybrid" as a change of pace.

Hi Tony, Welcome to Bike Forums.
Ride slow in your lower gears for your knees.
The new bikes with Brifters are nice.

Ride slowly?!!!That goes against my nature :) !I'm hoping that I can still ride moderately quickly. I was never all that fast(I was consistently train lengthed by stronger guys on battleship weight Schwinn Continentals) so I hope to build up my speed when my leg strength and stamina improve.
