Introductions - Hi from Youngstown, Ohio
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi everyone. Just recently found this site and am really enjoying it. I've been away from bikes for so long and want to get back to it. When I was a junior in high school back in '69 (hey, this could be a song) I started working in a bike shop and stayed there until 1977 while going to college off and on. So I experienced the boom of the 70's and got into it myself. I still kick myself for selling a '73 Paramount. I've still got a few old bikes around and a Raleigh mountain bike that was my son's. They all need work and some parts but I've kept all my tools from when working at the bike shop so I need to get busy. Gotta' admit I still like the stuff from the 70's and early 80's and will probably concentrate on that, but then I really know nothing about the newer stuff so I've got a lot to learn.
Anyway, just wanted to say hello and that this is a great site. Thanks

I am from Kuching, Malaysia
The new bike are almost the same as the old one. So if you knew the old bike, you should have no problem with the new one.
Welcome to bikeforum
Somethings change, some don't. New materials for components, electronics, etc but the concepts are basically all the same. You'll be fine. I'm just at home working around my 13 year old Trek road bike as I am on my 2004 RANS recumbent. Not that I've had to do anything to the recumbent other than tire repair, chain cleaning, and touching up a derailleur adjustment.
Thanks for the replies and the welcome.

Hay what part of Y, town are you from? I am from Boardman. What bike shop did you work? Like you, I wish I still had my old Ross. She did me very well, and I still have a spot in my heart for her.
