I just got my 1st road bike yesterday. I went on a 15 mile ride, which was incrediably easy in comparison to riding even 10 miles on my old MTB. One thing i noticed was that my wrist and hands were fatigued after the ride, and the same after a 15 mile ride this morning. I did experience the same thing when I bought my two motorcycles, both of which were gsxr600's that had a similiar weight distrubution on my hands as my road bike. It did eventually go away as I got back used to it. Will this go away like it did on my motorcycle? Also I have yet to get the bike properly adjusted, I was in such as hurry to be able to ride it and my LBS was so backed up I couldn't get a full fitting until later this week, which I know will help.
Other than that I love the bike, and can't wait to ride it some more when I get off of work today.

Your current fit (or lack thereof) is probably putting too much weight on your arms/hands.
As I have learned recently from personal experience, and what everyone here told me and will tell you -- fit is everything.
See my most recent thread on the topic - I always used to get arm fatigue and numbness until I got the right size bike and fitted it properly:

There are all kinds of sites dealing w/fit if you do a search on this forum.
Not only is it important for you to return asap for a proper fit, you need to make sure you got the right size to begin with -- all too commonly, people buy in haste and/or get bad info and end up with the wrong size. Happened to me.
I had sore hands/wrists for quite awhile. They are fine now, I just had to get used to it. I did switch to ritchy biomax bars, but I think the hand sorness came from grabbing the hood and thumb shifting. I used elastic wrist supports at one point for awhile.
