Ok so I took a spill the other day, nothing major, but when I got up my saddle was still tightly clamped down but totally misaligned. I was wondering does this happen to you guys when you fall sometimes? Obviously it has to do with the extent of the fall and the relation of your body to the saddle when you fall (sitting in it or standing). The likely case would be that your saddles would move, but I'm only asking because i've always had issues with by seatclamp and/or binder bolt and I was wondering if this is the reason this happens or if it's just normal.
I've been riding for some time and never really gave this any thought, but now I'm curious

yes, it happens
happens all the time. impacts will move metal-metal fitments and when the impact is over it will still be clamped tightly enough to keep it there. unclamp, readjust, and reset.

yah its happened to me. i guess its just the quick, blunt force that does it. obviously it stays put while riding, even with my 220 pound self.....usually i think its when the bike tumbles and the saddle hits the ground. plus the ground is concrete, and the butt is squishy lol

I don't think that has ever happened to me.

Your saddle suffered an impact just as if you'd given it a hard whack with a steel hammer. This can easily deform the frame rails. Sometimes you can bend it back and sometimes you can't. If the saddle rails are aluminum or cf, fogetaboutit, your saddle is toast.

Whenever I crash I land on my feet, looking at my bike. No idea how.
