I heard that the specialized sirrus 2011 will be about $100 less than the 2010 modell. Is it worth waiting for the 2011 or should I just pick up a 2010?

From what I can tell there are downgrades to several components from 2010 to 2011. You may want to compare the specs between them before thinking you are actually saving $100. Best to wait for the 2010 to closeout and get it for less than the 2011.

i heard the end of aug. beginning of sept. is when bike manufacturers start releasing there new bikes

The 11 is out in some places. They have it at a couple of my local bike shops now, in the black only. Red and silver to come later. It's not $100 less, it's $40 less. And that is because they downgraded the quality of the components to compete pricewise with the Trek 7.1. Grab a 2010 if you can find one in your size.
Also, the Specialized website is due to be updated w new models on Sep 1.

In latest years the components were downgraded every year.
I think it has something to do with the financial crisis and manufacturers wanting to make more money on less.
If you can, get a 2009 model of any bike ... the components were better and they are on huge sales now ;)

I'd look for a used one between '04 and '08. The '04 Pro and Sport had disk brakes. At '08 the components started being downgraded starting with a cheaper front derailleur that fouled rear fender mounting.
