Bicycle Mechanics - Problems installing rear derailleur

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm installing the rear derailleur from the silver bike to blue bike but obviously I didn't notice this little problem; the blue bike doesn't have that hole I need(the one I'm pointing at).

After looking around, I found this:

Just posting to make sure, it'd work if I used this adapter on the blue bike, right?
Close, but no cigar for you. That's a replaceable hanger for a specific frame. Actually, what you need is a claw shaped adapter usually supplied as part of a cheap derailler these days. The claw bolts to the back of the dropout using a specailly shaped nut that fits in the dropout track.
If you ask at you friendly LBS, they should know exactly what you need and probably have one sitting around. I don't see one in the QBP catalog so I don't know if can be ordered.
EDIT: Found one at loose screws: http://www.loosescrews.com/index.cgi?c=Derailleur&sc=Rear%20Hanger&id=982585320835 but they're on vacation until the end of the month.

hmm, yeah I know it said it's a replacement but I thought that smaller screw can be attached to the one provided on the frame.
I'll try asking my LBS for any parts
