I just installed a spanking new WI Eno freewheel on my DA Hubs (getting ready for the double century!). Ok, it looks great and solid etc etc.....but it appears that as if coasting presents some resistance, so much that it can even spin the cranks if I do not hold on to them. Is this normal? I mean for a new WI Eno? Just wondering if there is some break in time required.

I think there is a little bit if a break in period. You might need to do a double century or two before doing your double century.

No break in period on a freewheel. Resistance is higher with a white freewheel due to the increased amount of internal pawls.

Ride the bike.

I have thousands of miles on my ENO FW,.... still does as you mention.

My guess is is likely due to the pawls in conjunction with a huge sealed bearing which has pretty good lipseals on them.

If you are concerned, I'll trade you. I have a sweet ACS.

Haven't had that problem with mine. You didn't get one of those six pawl trials (green lock ring) freewheels, did you?

That's a bad deal, I'll give him Dicta.

No I got the red ones....guess thats their 'standard' offering.

Yeah, red's the normal one. I really don't have that problem with mine, but maybe my bottom bracket is tight.

If I had to choose between a Dicta or an ACS, I'd take the Dicta. My experience is that it's more reliable. Ain't giving up my White, though.

chain could be too tight?

I was thinking about that last night...I might experiment a little later.

I made the chain to be almost as tight as it would be if it was an FG (my previous setup!).....
