Hey guys. I got a 2009 windsor Hour.

Want to change the fork to a straight one...preferably of steel construction, and I wanted it straight.

What exactly does fork rake refer to? Does that refer to the sweep at the bottom of the fork? Or can it refer to how far forward the fork sweeps (even if its straight) from the point at which it meets the bottom of the head tube?

Haha don't know if im clear or not.

But the point is, Im looking to grab a fork that will bring the front wheel in closer to teh downtube....kind of want some more responsive steering ish.

Straight forks....straight forks...

rakes the offset of the fork in mm. to make your wheel closer to the downtube you might want to get a fork with less rake. not advised as the bike will be extremely twitchy

Luck of the draw I guess ? Windsor Hour has the chromoly raked fork. I wound up with a Vilano with a straight hi ten fork.

Do you want zero rake?

Or straight blades?

Zero rake will really mess up your bike's handling... IMO go for something with the same rake/trail as stock.
