Hi everyone, I picked up two raleigh sprites a while ago and just sold the white women's one for $120, but the thing is, people were offering me extra money just to hold it. Am I missing something? They are both ten speed, but I think I could get more for the men's bike, since there was such interest in the women's bike. What would be a good price for this? (I'm in CT...if that makes a difference)

I wouldn't say there is anything special about the sprites, just basic entry level derailleur bikes. The brand name recognition probably helps a lot, just like Schwinns. That one looks like it's in above average, mostly original condition which probably helps more than anything.

Have you tuned it up at all or is it as found? I'd normally say 120-150 in clean, ready to ride condition. Since you had so much luck selling the other why not start higher? Work your way down a little at a time if it sits for a while.

Thank you for the reply. Everything is tuned up and ready to ride, so I will try your suggestion if I sell it.

Yeah, that sounds good. That bike does look like it just rolled off the factory floor and that should really help. My only suggestion is to make sure your seat post isn't past the minimum insertion point.

It isn't marked, but I have it a couple inches into the seat tube.
