Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Wheel Questions

Ok, with the 8th inch coupon going around its made me question an upgrade that im not too knowledgeable on. Wheels.

My Question: I have a Specialized Langster. Its a year old, the hubs are still in great condition and I like the way they ride so I dont want to get new ones. Also, I already have a hub so why buy a new complete wheel? It just seems like the more expensive route.

So, is it smarter and cheaper for me to buy this rim and have my LBS lace it up to my hub? Any idea on what your local LBS charges for such a procedure?

( I understand this upgrade is nothing more than cosmetic, thats why Im checking the price of it all.)

Believe me, the stock langster hub sucks - maybe the cog wasnt tightened well enough on mine. The bottom bracket is also of low quality. However, you should buy another hub so youll have two complete rear wheels instead of a rear wheel and a hub and useless spokes. You cant reuse the spokes as the rims are different depths and such. Besides, the cost of labor and new spokes will be the cost of your new back wheel anyway.

I appreciate the suggestions but Id rather not buy another hub. This wheel can be front or rear im not really partial to either. Im thinking labor and new spokes has gotta be like 40$. 40$ labor + 20$ 43mm wheel= win!

LBS's charge a dollar per spoke = 32. Labor for a wheel build is not going to be 8 dollars.
