I can't take it anymore. Too much of it. It's here in the morning, while I'm at work, when I get out of work... My wife has had her brand new bike for a week now and she's only been able to put 28 miles on it. 25 from a ride last week, and 3 from last night.

Yesterday I spent more time under a shelter waiting out the rain than I did on the bike. Was going to ride this morning but looked at the weather map an said "I don't think so". The weather was clear here but rain was comming from the west coast and I figured it would be here before I got back.

I got soaked on Saturday and haven't ridden since .... I pulled out my crankset to fit a new Ultegra 53/39 and I am sad to say there was plenty of water in the frame. Seems my drain hole in the bottom bracket shell was blocked.
Please go away rain, I need to ride!

It's getting old. I'm just just hoping the tour of sebring this next weekend is dry and clear. We've been looking forward to it for months.

Why don't you guys like riding in the rain?
Besides traffic.

Yeah .. That kind of bothers me more than the rain... When its raining so hard that your afraid the people in the cars wont see you. Riding on a paved trail in the rain can be pretty awesome though, sept for the Cleaning the bike, that sucks.

Mainly cleaning the bike, I don't mind riding in it but then adding another 30m to clean and lube is a hassle. So far been lucky this week, I ride in the afternoon and it has been missing me.

Yes, cleaning and lubing is the main issue, but Florida storms tend to be sudden and violent. It isn't much fun getting caught out in a heavy downpour with lightning flashing all around.
The good news is the next week looks relatively dry. It's probably too much to hope this is the start of the fall riding season, especially with the tropical storms lining up out in the Atlantic.
