Anyone have a recommendation for fenders and panniers for a 2006 Fisher Capitola?

Background: I have a 13-24 mile (round trip) commute 3+ days a week. I usually commute on a '06 Capitola and currently use a cheap backpack along with a seat bag to hold a change of clothes, a laptop, and a small bike tool kit.

Anyone have a favorite commuter pannier they would recommend?

Second question. I've searched but can't seem to find any good information on what fenders would fit the something like the Capitola. Given the wide tires (currently 2.0" Serfas Drifters) and MTB like frame I would think a set of MTB fenders should fit, but the last set I tried didn't seem to match up with the bike's frame.

For those on hybrids, what fenders do you use?

Ortlieb roll closed panniers keep things inside them dry ,

SKS has good wide mudguards in their product range..

How are they for transporting computer gear? They certainly look big enough to pack whatever one needs :thumb:

same as any pannier , really , it's a big open single bag ,

If you really worry about the computer getting beat up on the road , Wear it,
then your legs would be the shock absorber .

see a hole ? get up off the saddle as you will in any normal circumstance..

If you put it in a padded bag [thicker the better if the road is really rough]
I'd expect, no problem.
tech heads take laptops on bike tours all the time these days..

What was it about the frame and/or fenders that made them incompatible?

For fenders I like Planet Bike Cascadias; great bang for the buck:

For Panniers I like Arkel's products; pricey, but very well-constructed and durable. I carry a laptop, too and I use the Arkel Commuter:
