Today was my first commute since i got hit by a car on June 4th. Finally got the courage to do it.
Its great to be back. Cant wait for the ride home.
I have been riding but mostly to prospect park and doing some laps. I can tell you it is totally different to push hard to get to and from work knowing you have an actual destination.
So happy to be back.

Good for you, I know the feeling! I crashed on April 2 for reasons unknown because the concussion I got left me with no memory of that afternoon. I was chomping at the bit to get back in the saddle (and what a mixed metaphor that is) but it was oddly unsettling at first when I actually got to the point where I could. That passed soon enough and I have been happily commuting for a couple of months now. Just be more careful about everything, that is all I can do since I don't even know what hit me, what I hit, or which it was!!

Congrats on overcoming the mental part and coming back. It's a mind game. I was a tight end when I played football and injured my knee that took me out for 2 months. The hardest part of coming back was not rehab, it was trusting my knee when I ran my routes. The mind game is the real playing field.

I recently crashed in the park near my office and broke my collarbone-- I was coming back on a path and hit a rut and was rudely deposited on the concrete-
Looking forward to that first ride (two weeks) with a bit of excitement and trepidation. Glad your ride went well, makes me more excited!

Glad you're back - congrats! It's Saturday and I rode in for some overtime today. Just saw the weather report - expecting 20mph winds this afternoon from the southeast...:twitchy: Yup, headwinds! See what you've been missing? :p Be safe!
