Well for me, it's too late. I'm really buzzed about it. I bought it new because my dad who is going through chemo lives in South Florida. I'll be coming out quite a bit (I'm from Northern Cali) and renting a bike for a couple of weeks is quite expensive ($40 a day). Since I ride my fixie at home 75% of the time and that's with a lot of climbing, getting a fixie for Florida was a no brainer.

So, I pick it up today (writing this from Atlanta airport waiting for my flight connection).

Any thoughts on the Sputnick?

Sputnik is a nice frame made by Maxway. Those rear dropouts are sexy as all hell. I'm also sending some good vibes to your dad. :thumb:

Really like the 2010 Sputnik in copperfield. The bike comes with pretty good components to start out with too, so congrats on your great choice. Sending good thoughts your way for your Dad. :)

That is one sexy bike. I'd consider it when I want to upgrade from my moto track. Hope everything goes well with your dad..I spent a lot of time in waiting rooms as a kid, so I feel ya.

Well, here it is. Took it out for a 30 miler. I'm having to get used to the classic bars and the brakes but so far, I'm loving this bike. Gearing is different from my fixie at home (46x16 as opposed to my 44x17) in CA, but here in South Florida, it's perfect. I'm loving it!

I've got the same bike. I've had it a few months now. I love it. I replaced the bars on mine with bullhorns, and the saddle with a Brooks Swallow, but other than that, the stock gearing and overall ride quality feels great to me.

Yup, I replaced teh saddle with my beloved Selle An-Atomica, best saddle on the planet IMHO. Those bars though are real tough though. Going out for a century today on Ft. Lauderdale to West Palm to see how it goes.
