Hey guys,

From anticipating my bike coming in, I have been looking around for a brown honey bar tape that isn't cloth or brooks or the elk covers. I been searching around the forums but see a lot of people recommending shellac. I really don't like that sheeny shiny look.

The honey is out of stock for the longest time.

Does cork feel like leather? I don't know what material of tape I should look for? I prefer not to use gloves but for longer rides I might use a glove.

What other handlebar tapes are out there that is similar to a Brooks Honey Saddle?

Ahh dang, I want more of a simple looking bar tape. No weird logos on it if possible. Thanks for the suggestion though

i have a cushy bar tape on my bars then hockey tape over it, feels good and you can use whatever color you want x]

I found that the site has the brown honey for the Fizik.

What are positives to leather? Wouldn't the brown leather lose color overtime?

Actually, the brown leather will darken over time with the absorption of sweat and body oil just like a saddle. Positives... feels good on your hands and is long lasting.

Can someone give me a pros and cons to something like the Fizik vs Leather? Does the Honey Saddle get darker as well? How about the Fizik?

I have Soma Thick and Zesty brown tape, which is a lot lighter brown than I thought it would be, although it seems like it would match the Brooks Honey quite well. Inexpensive, cushy cork, my kind of tape. :thumb:
