I have been looking around on here a lot. I was wondering why there is not a lot about the Masi Frames, are they not that popular or have they dropped in quality, or is there something else?

People come here asking what to get, some one suggest what they have, some one new asks, the next person suggests what was suggested to them earlier, repeat. Thats why there only seem to be 4 bikes that are good here.

Nope.

It's owned by Haro Bikes now.

OP: as far as fixed/ss bikes, they look nice, and have a classic italian name. That's about it. Otherwise, they're very average frames (4130 chromo, or the same as the moto team track/old fuji track comp) at higher than average prices.

better deals can be had.

I'm having a lot of trouble with this question but I think this is what you're asking for:

Yes, but due to a long and complicated naming rights history they cannot be sold under the Masi name in North America. Instead, they are marketed here under the "Milano (http://milano3v.com/)" name. In Europe you can still buy them as Masi.

In North America, the Masi name was first used by Masi USA (http://www.classicrendezvous.com/USA/Masi_usa_main.htm)under the direction of Faliero Masi, who emigrated to California in the early 70s. Masi bikes continued to be built in Italy (even up to today) by Faliero's son Alberto Masi.

Haro is the current owner of the Masi naming rights in North America, and the Masi bikes produced by Haro have no direct relation to the Masi bikes in Italy or the Masi family. The naming rights were purchased solely for marketing purposes.

the most disgusting of all is the coltello.

Why's that? ~I'm not pulling your leg, the coltello and its emerald green, doesn't look half bad in my opinion on the street. Is it the price point?

Yes, but in a world of famous bike names that bear no relationship to their own histories... Masi is one of the best!

In what manner are they better than the dozens of other generic Asian welded frames on the market? Is it the "Faliero Masi" signature decal on the top tube?

Please forgive my sloppy grammar:

When De Rosa "Schwinns out" we'll have a new champion.

i saw the new masi catalog and there is a really nice looking steel lugged one. its blue and has the throwback decals similar to the seventies style that people really love. its still a haro, but its pretty. one of the prettiest for entry level steel bikes in my opinion. keep an eye out for it!

Thank you. So it *IS* the signature decal that makes all the difference, after all.

Correct - a fake MASI kicks a fake Bottecchia's ARSE in the brand snobbery department.

I would like some input for the cost how does the Masi Speciale Fixed LTD Drop (http://www.masibikes.com/fixed/speciale-fixed-ltd-drop/) add up, or is it paying for the name and mid-grade components?
