hey guys, i just found this on pinkbike and thought i'd share the news with you.
SRAM Corporation and Truvativ are pleased to announce that SRAM has signed a Definitive Agreement to purchase Truvativ. The transaction is expected to close by mid October.
Stan Day, the President of SRAM said, "Truvativ is a great company with a remarkable track record of growth and innovation. SRAM is excited to bring the Truvativ Team and products into our organization. Cranksets and bottom brackets complete SRAM's drivetrain product line."

**** NO! NOO! NO! SRAM is gunna do what they did to Avid and turn Truvativ's CS to ****. Truvativ used to be a good company, what the **** were they thinking.....same with Avid. This really angers me.....

I don't know I've seen improvement in Avids since Sram Aquired them. Maybee Sram will be able to solve the thread stripping issues alt of the truvative cranks had.

Only time will tell. That or secret spies.

I really haven't heard of much bad CS from sram, rockshoxx or avid. And truvativ has had problems, maybe this will fix those problems.
But it is inevitable. Larger multi-disipline companies usualy have crappy cs compared to small companies. Large CS departments with automated tellers and or software based CS forms for operators makes for poor CS. So I can see this being a worry, thank god there is a rockshox avid tent 30 minutes from my house through almost the whole summer.

i've kind of got mixed feelings about this. i just hope they don't do too much messing around with truvativ's stuff. anyone who's read my posts in which i've listed the parts spec on my fluid will know that i've got a bunch of truvativ's parts on my bike, so needless to say, i like their stuff. i mean, i've yet to put on my holzfeller cranks, but i can say that i'm pleased with the performance of the fiveD's currently on the fluid thus far - and the fiveD's are their low end entry level cranks. so i can't wait to see how the holzfellers are.
regarding the thread stipping problem mentioned by some of the guys, from what i've read - and again, correct me if i'm wrong - these issues have mostly been with the hussefelt line of cranks, which have the chromoly pedal inserts. i've read nothing but good reviews for the holzfellers though.
in any case, i guess we're going to have to wait and see how things pan out...
