Hello fellow cyclist!

I have been riding since I was a little kid on a bmx. I then went to mtb and started racing. My friends told me " If you want to be competitive, you need to get on a road bike". My response " That dorky looking skinny tire thing". I was working at a bike shop at the time, and the new Trek OCLV Lemond's just came out. I saw it and said " I want one". The moment I got on it I was hooked!. So I started racing road.

I was born and raised in So. Lake Tahoe, CA. I was a messenger in San Francisco for six years. And lived in Boulder Colorado for two years. I miss that little town. Awesome road and mtb riding! I still cannot believe I made it to Cat-2 there. I did a Ironman TRI there called the "5130" ? 4 months after a bad accident-fractured pelvis, broke 3 ribs and tore both rotator cuffs. I only did the bike leg, but still came in 2nd place on my Lemond w/ no aero bars, or 650c wheels ( I had Spinergy Rev-X's). I also did the "Saturn Cycling Classic" which is no longer being held.(saturn dropped sponsership). They called it " The toughest one day race on earth". From Boulder to Breckenridge-140 miles, most of it uphill. 7 Mt. passes. Two downhill sections that we're so steep you had to change to a mtb. Out of 187 freaks who started, only 12 finished in 2001. When elite racers are complaining, you know something is wrong.

I have had enough of America and am going to Europe. People here do not respect cyclist. I have been hit by cars, ran of the road, cussed at, you name it!. Plus, I have certain issues with the direction this country is going. I consider it insane that a large portion of this electorate considers George Bush a viable option in the White House... " Despite having everything going for it-wealth, technology, unchallenged military might-the United States is facing a spiraling crisis made in Washington: a budget deficit of gargantuan proportions, a voracious military budget that buys us neither security nor peace of mind, a reckless neglect of man-made climate change, and a foreign policy that in three short years has made us one of the most feared countries on the planet. This is a crisis, I believe, that reflects profoundly misplaced priorities regarding America's relations with the world.
Don't ask what you can do for your country. Ask what your country can do for you! :D

I have a $6ooo road bike and do not own a car nor have I ever had a drivers license. I am very proud of this!. I am 36 y/o.
Keep it rubber side down!
Friend's don't let friend's drive!
