Usually when I ride this trail I camp at one of the nearby state parks and I go back to the park in the evening. However, primitive camping is allowed in the Shawnee Natl. Forest. Parts of the trail run adjacent to the forest. Has anyone taken camping gear and camped along the trail? Seems like it could make for a nice 2-3 day tour, with all the side trails and things to see like around the Cache River, Heron Pond, etc.
