Stumpjumper Sport was the budget version of the Stumpjumper. The Sport was basically the same frame, but had lesser components. I'd say between $300 - $500 if you can find the right buyer. A 1984 frame only of this same bike that was in poor condition went for $125 recently on ebay, but it was in the harder to find 23 inch frame.
If you really want to know what it is worth, put it on ebay for 99 cents & sit back and watch.

I think (hope) mparker is being fecetios - -If you don't put a reserve on it or a reasonable price, it may sell for .99.
I can't say what its' worth but it is one of the nicer MTBs that are commonly available. The new condition certainly is a plus.
Lots of variance on ebay, sometimes things go high, other times, they go low. Really hard to predict. I would start the auction at a number you are comfortable with, and hopefully it will go up from there.

It unfortunately would have been worth more if you had just pulled it out of the box. and marketed it showing it in its original packaging, probably worth $100 more than assembled. In most cases if you ebay it you will ship it, and it will not be in its original packing configuration... oh well.
I would email Specialized with images, even Sinyard, back then, it was about moving product, I bet they don't have an example from the early days.

They were NIB and I paid around $200 each plus shipping on eBay. These are really nice bikes with Deore LX components. Just giving for some point of reference.

He started it at 50 cents, already up to $160 with 4 days left.

Only $500? $500 was a ton of money (well maybe a 1/4 ton of money) back in 1984.
It'll go for $400-600.

Certainly a lot cheaper than a Ritchey.

I probably would've left the kickstand off.
At this point ..... I wonder if whoever buys it is going to keep it that way for show or ride it. It's brand new.... one of a kind ..... better off being a show piece. Frankly, since I do own one from 1983 .... the quality of the ride of these frames is really nothing to rejoice over..... it's pretty bad really.

now that you mention it I do recall thinking $475 for '87 Bianchi Sport SX was alot of money

the ride is a realative thing. while it may accelerate and turn like a old truck compared to todays MTBs, I bet the over comfort of the ride is much better
and yes it would be shame to see some dope buy this and 'modernize' it
