Triathlon - IM CANADA 2011 - 361 Days to Glory! Anyone else in?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
There were online entries still available Monday night, so I pulled the trigger! And I'm still 2 months out from my first Half-Iron. This wasn't part of the game plan when I was thinking about IM in late 2011, but Canada is the big race for the tri team I just joined and it'll be way more fun to do it with a whole crew of people. I wasn't particularly excited about Arizona or Florida after I had to rule out Western Australia for cost.
I am completely psyched for this!!!

Awesome. I didn't know the were allowing online registration again. For the past few years you had to be on site in Penticton. Everyone I know who has done this race has said that it is fantastic!

I think online registration has been potentially available the last few years, but nothing gets to online if it's all sold out on site in Penticton. I have heard some rumor that the field was expanded for 2011, but I have no idea if the source was credible. All told, online registration was open a good chunk less than 24 hours. I did absolutely no research on IMC before Monday. Tri team's race photos were going up on facebook and I thought "maybe I should see if registrations were available. Wow, they are. Maybe I should check out the bike map. Looks hilly. Ah, eff it, hills make you more of a man." 10 minutes later, the wallet was light 600 clams.

Have a good race! Penticton was my first IM and I have fond memories.

I went and watched this year and signed up in person. Waited in line for 5 hours Monday morning, as I had heard it typically sells out and there aren't any spots online. I'm looking forward to it, did my first half in Osoyoos back in July, and it was tough.
I've already started training for 2011.
