Foo - New Ipod touch 4gen and your thoughts on it

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I currently have the 3gen and I love it.. but the 4gen now has the Retina display, HD camera/video, mic, and some more stuff i believe.

How many starving children could your couple hundred bucks help? So, when you buy it, each time you play a song think of the dying children that you neglected because you wanted the latest and greatest.

I was going to post in here something about waiting for you to start gushing about it... and you were just that much faster.
There's still no GPS so I may wait for an Android competitor.

Interesting point. How many died when I upgraded by Canon Rebel to a 7D? Were than any additional repercussions from my paying for overnight shipping?

There's nothing wrong with materialism as long as you don't pretend to be a compassionate person.

Highly doubtful there will ever be one.

Only because it's Apple lol.

You're probably right. The GoGear Connect and YP-MB2 are rumored to be released soon so I'll wait for the reviews. If those don't turn out well then I may get a used iPhone or Droid and just not use the phone part.

Outperforms? All the android has over the iPhone is bigger numbers. Bigger numbers is useless if you cannot utilize the power to make the product perform up to standards. The Android OS definitely does not perform up to the standards of it's hardware which basically makes it as a whole, an inferior product.

I'm not looking for an iphone or android phone; I want an ipod touch or similar with a gps. Basically, everything but the phone (and the contract). I haven't found similar android device yet with access the the marketplace.
And thanks for the video. :)

I'm not a fan of their plans to use the "security feature" of the retina scanner to be able to lock out anyone who tries to jailbreak one.

What in the deuce are you talking about?
I have the 3rd gen touch, but there is no real advantage to upgrade for me. If it had GPS, then I would consider it.

You didn't hear about their patent application to use something (maybe it was the camera facing the user) in the new iphone, ipod touch, and ipad to do some facial recognition supposedly as security so only the purchaser could use it, but in a lot of tech sites it seems pretty clear they want to use it to turn the devices into bricks for people who jailbreak it (or at least that's the logical next application and the patent application says things that make that a possibility). By jailbreak, I mean modify it so it can use non-apple approved software/networks. Apple is turning into freaking big brother man.
