Fifty Plus (50+) - Tooting my own horn...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Since the first week of March I have logged 2047 miles both commuting and riding in events to include a metric century. I lost 25 pounds, 1 pant size, raised just over $500 for charity and completed the metric in 4 hours and 5 minutes. My wife created a monster when she bought me that bike.

Bells don't work round here so Hope the horn is a loud one.
And What Bike? First metric in 4 hours is good---Forget the 5 minutes due to Traffic and the computer being wrong. 25lbs weight loss is even better.
So what does the wife think of what she created?

The more weight that comes off, the faster and farther you go and the more fun it is. Great job.

The bike is a 2010 Merceir Galaxy.
The wife thinks it's great. I don't think that she expected me to take to it as I have.

You must be mistaken about the lost weight. We have been told repeatedly that it is impossible to lose weight by riding more. :innocent:

Rock on dude, I've lost 17 lbs myself and its great to put on a piece of clothing that I could barely get in a few months ago and find it a tad large. Toot away

Kudos, for sure.
The weight loss is a pretty cool side effect, no? I've lost about 30-35 pounds and I didn't really even set out to lose weight. None of my pants fit any more.
Good for you, but I wonder.
Are you trying to make me look bad? :)
Well done but why not 3 more miles to make it a even 2050? slacker
Okay just joking around. Excellent job! It's fun too huh?
Ya done good. Any goals for next year in the works yet?

I think those things where you are are called mountains. Rocky Hills just doesn't quite have the same ring.
