If I had waited and armed with the knowledge I now have. I wouldn't have even considered Haro...well maybe the DHR. Those look SWEET. But otherwise I would be looking Specialized or Santa Cruz.

Interbike is more like 3 weeks man. And is it like something that happens around the world?

Its a yearly event that everyone basically waits for. Unveiling new stuff, prototypes etc. Pretty cool event. I would love to go some year, but you need to be in the industry I believe.

Interbike is the North American Industry Trade Show for cycling.
It's also when all the companies debut their new product lines.
I'm hoping to make it one day! I hear it's killer.

hah haro's 05 lineup is ****in sweet. they decided to make a dj bike with teh enw black stanchion sr suntour dj forks(yes i know sr suntour ****TY) but i no from personal expirience that they are nice and durable. ive had browsed through my local shops catalog and ahv come to the conclusion that 05 haro is ****in sweet. the x1 is basiaclly last years x2, this year x2 is simply orgasmic with the new 2005 manitou stance (black stanchion udget shermans) its like the 04 x3 and then some. now the x3 is really nice and is basically a bullit because it has 7 oinches of rear travel which means haro has really raised the bar for freeride bikes. there is no word on a haro dh bike this year as far as i no. but theres a real new treat for those with a large wallet. the 05 haro werx 7. it basically IS a bullit. 7 inches rear travel, 7 incehs front with shermans, unbelivable stats but priced at 4000 not every1 can taste the sweetness.

It still isn't a buillit and they haven't raised any bar. They might have caught up. I agree though, the bikes do look pretty good and at least now they allow dc forks. For the money, with ironhorse going way up in price, it is definately a great set of budget bikes.
The dj bike with suntour is downright stupid and dangerous. That is beyond incomprehensible.
Stance is going to be the best thing to happen to budget bikes. Amazing lineup if the damping can hold a candle to the jrT.
Do you have a link to the hard werx 7? I can't find it on the site.

they have alowwed dc forks since day 1..... and they have raised the bar because these bikes are budget and hav ****in awesome statistics.the sr suntour i have looked into and is acually really nice.and has a good warranty. the stances can hold a candle to teh junior t without trying, they are shermans little brother. the only diff between them are shermans basically is the paint job and the seals. i cant find any links to 05 haro stuff acually but if u could send me some that would be awesome. i know because my lovcal bike shop is already ordering in the 05's and i hav been starring at the catalog mroe than the owner lol

and asfar as the x2 i can name every single part on it as i am buying 1 for next season when they come in stock.i have examined the catalog vigouresly drewling over my next bike and if any1 has questions about the x2 i can answer.

No they haven't. The x-series until last year voided warranty to dc forks. We have a user on here who won't ride a dc because that is what is says on the 04 website.
No body has ridden a stance how do you know? The damping is where it count. It is definately going to be strong. Otherwsie you are correct, they are like the jrT to the superT
I would love a link. Sounds like a good bike.
BTW nice area of bc. I keep meaning to get out there for a road trip. Welcome to the forums

lol thats ******** about last years warranty voiding lol my bike shop was sellin x's with junior and super t's lmao but as the local shop owner says "you dont send the whole bike in for warranty, how do they know if it was dc or sc"
i saw a demo when i was in nelson and got to SORTA test it out...well cruise around the street on the enw fork (not new haro) and it felt great.. possibly too plush and same with teh sr suntour's
and the riding in kelowna and westbank is great, knox, gillard and powers are some real good riding. wut style doo you prefer?
Maelstrom

Yeah a lot of shops were, but it was voiding the warranty. Although haro may choose to ignore it considering these are supposed to be 'extreme' bikes.
The demo is decent. I freaking hate them now. I have seen probably a few 100 and a few hundred 888's. I am not a unique bike rider by any means but I am sick of them. I like the feel of the 888 but because I spend a lot of time on trails in the offseason I need a fork I can pedal around too. (slider 2005)
Thats one of the spots I am doing on a road trip next year. My gf, a friend and her bf and renting a truck and going around bc riding for a couple of weeks. Nelson, Kelown, Shore, Maybe mt Washington, kamloops and rossland (gotta hit oasis)
I ride everything. Just getting into dh and fr but more of a trail rider right now. Although I like my stunts and have fallen in love with dh. Heck I live in whistler, I even have a skate park I ride sometimes.

kelowna has gillard which is mostly fully only because its rough trail and big hits. knox is like a dessert style dh with really rocky terrain. powers is the best rounded because its got some fast and fun dh/single track, lots of stunts, ladders etc. and some decent size hits.. for example our new road gap shinanigans. its probably about a 20 foot drop with a 20 foot gap. we also hav a small road gap thats prolly 10x10 and then lots of other goodys. im not sure if haro ignored that statment about the warranty but you dont send your entire bike built up in for warranty, you only send the frame. they have no way of telling whether or not it have dc or sc.
btw 888's are way overated and they are the sluttiest forks byfar lol
Maelstrom
10-05-04, 10:17 PM
Excellent I will keep that in mind for my trip...cheers.
Sc forks don't rip off headtubes. They are more likely to have the steer tube ripped outof them. First assumtion of the shop (I spoke with a production manager a few years ago about it)..if the headtube is removed they are 90% sure it was done by a dc fork.
HaroBoy
10-05-04, 10:23 PM
lol "oh the irony" i saw a pic of a big beefy da-bomb bike on pinkbike with 01 junior t's and the headtube was ripped clean off. the scary part was the headtube and gussest were as thick as my arms lol

.
Is something wrong with the suntour fork or is it the combination of the fork with the dj?
Just curious I currently have a suntour fork (XC-60), and I was planning on upgrading next year or so
(depending on how long the suntour lasts) Should I be worried about this fork and upgrade now?
I ride as much rough trail as I can find. I have a 2004 Norco Wolverine, I really like my bike, I know that it does not have the best or highest quality parts, but as the current stuff breaks down then I would replace it with the better stuff, I already took the v-brake off and moved the haynes mx2's to the back and put mx1's on the front. This is my first year riding so I am still learning, but its all coming to me, thanks to forums like this. Yeah I did do the brake switch myself too.

Suntour's are fine for regular riding. But for djing, which stresses the fork a lot, I would never even consider it. Breaking a crank or deraileur will likely be annoying but that is it. Breaking a fork on a landing of a dj because that is how the bike is advertised could be dealy (and I mean it literally...it could kill someone)...I find that very irresponsible if the company is advertising the bike as a djer out of the box.

That Haro poster boy is funny....seriously. I will again say Haro has not raised any bar for anything...especially because they are just jacking up the price on the bikes. Im really looking forward to see the new bikes...and how much they really charge for them. My friend has an X3, and its a fun bike....but its no where near the same bike...or in the category as the Bullit. Id take an SC over a Haro any day.....
The Stance is just the Shermans with the older dampening from 02'/03'....fluidflow and TPC+. Fluidflow will be on part with the SSV and SSVF....but the tpc+ will be just as good, if not smoother than an HSCV cart.
