Fifty Plus (50+) - Club insurance

Some friends and I are regularly meeting up for informal rides, but now feel we need to get organised. We are all of a certain age ...

We would like some ride insurance/coverage. Is the best way to affiliate to a national cycling organisation? If so, which one?

I'm a fur'ner in the US, btw, so I'm not familiar with the set up here.

You probably know the situation over here in that if you are a full member of the CTC- or a club that is affiliated to it- You get insurance. Not certain what it does cover but You are insured.

So come back to the UK- sounds as though it is easier- unless the US has a similar scheme in operation. But I nearly got to the US last year. I had coverage through the CTC for world wide riding at a nominal fee.

Yes it is ... plus Honja fenders and racks, it's a very steady, comfortable ride. It gets lots of comments. Waiting for my first tour ;-)

I have hammered Honjos on my Casseroll. Great fenders. I think a Vaya would be great for the network of dirt roads around here.

We had a discussion about our club and insurance on a ride and the conclusion was the only asset someone could get from the club were some leftover XS wind vests that no one ever bought.

I'm an insurance agent and I write stuff like this through K&K Insurance - here's the link (http://www.kandkinsurance.com/Sports/Pages/Sports.aspx). I think you can go directly through them and not use an agent.
