I am just getting started into biking and hope to begin commuting when the weather is above 40 degrees F.

Little about me: I save disease and stamp out lives... oh wait, that doesn't sound right. Ok, just a Paramedic.

And, I have never been on RAGBRIA. Maybe next year.

I want to lose weight. 32 years of "where did this come from" weight gain.

I am interested in commuting to work. My community has created a bike path which takes me nearly to my work. The paths, contrary to the bad rap they get in this forum, have very little hazaards or intersections, because they are built upon park areas. My trip to work will only add 3 miles more than driving.

My wife and I bought each other bikes last Christmas, and I never realized I would have this much fun. This recreation is scenic, social, invigorating, relaxing, and explorative.

Welcome to the forums Iowa! What part of Iowa are you from? I've been through the state quite a few times, (right up the middle anyway,) seems like there are some nice towns through there. Pella really seemed like a nice community to me. But I like small towns.:)

I live in North Liberty, just north of Iowa City and Coralville

Never been in the Eastern part of the state. Probably not much different than the middle though.:)
