My gf just recently bought a 1998 Bianchi Eros Touring Road Bike for $285 and spent another $100 for new parts. I was wondering how high can we put it up for on craigslist because she wants an older looking bike for college to prevent theft. Here are some pictures we took: (sorry if this is not a classic and vintage bike)

what is the deal with the seat/post? I agree $400 maybe 450 it about tops. personally I would just hold on to this and buy an older hybrid for school.

yeah.. That's what i was telling her, but she's not listening. I swapped the seat posts w/ my old mountain bike's because the bianchi one could not go low enough for her.

Thanks for the responses!

OH so the bike is a bit big for her? then sell it and buy something that fits better

400 is a bit steep, but bianchi's have a following, especially in the celeste color. put the stock seatpost back on, adjust the seat to the middle of the rails, raise up the seat at least a fistfull. (4-5 inches). it looks to be in overall good condition, you might get the $400 for it.

i second getting a hybrid for around school. almost as fast as a road bike, more upright and comfortable, and less likely to be stolen. i love road bike geometry, it fits me well.
