I have the smaller version that's made for single speed cranks max 38T. It took some dorking around to get it to work without rubbing against the crankarm. I've heard people getting the front deralliuer version to work with some effort. There's a another brand's chainguard that's split into two pieces, the gap is for the front derallieur, I'd take a look at that one.
