Kind of hard to see, but we have some gold showing on some of our trees.

Anyone else?

Yesterday am, I had arm warmers, long sleeve jersey and leg warmers on for a bit.

We have a couple of maples nearby that are starting to turn (one in our back yard, one across the street). They always turn early, but this is kind of ridiculous. I think they may be badly stressed since we had virtually no rain the entire month of August. I think the official total was about a third of an inch for the whole month.

I grew up in Fayetteville and cycled extensively in NW Arkansas until 1983. Where I live now (south Louisiana) there is no Fall season as you know it.

I miss the leaves turning . . . :(

It is still lush and green around here. We're a good month away from seeing leaves turn.

I think some of ours is due to heat and lack of moisture as noted above. That said, however, we've had a bunch of rain during the last two days. Tomorrow's low is forecast in the mid to high 40's, and tomorrow's high around 79. Should be a great day for the Roadies. The turning leaves are beautiful, but what they portend is not, hence the frowny face in my first post.

Might be time for the fall Aspen ride.

Time to ride north and up Ute Pass for the spectacular aspens.

Up in BC, I have a Silver Maple in my front yard that started turning about 3 weeks ago. Many of the leaves are now scarlet.

The Burning Bushes are now turning as well.

This was the shortest summer ever. It started very late - a long cold wet spring, with nothing that even resembled summer until late mid-June, and by late August the nights were over at 8:30, the leaves were turning, and like you - I am already wearing knee warmers and wool sweaters.

Fall is a four letter word. So is cold. And there are a few others that I try not to think about. :(

I'm with you on the "c" word, but what's bad about fall? Spring is a fairly close second, but fall in Georgia is definitely my favorite season. The much needed break from the oppressive summer heat and the beauty of the changing colors of the leaves makes for great bicycle riding and so many other things. Not to mention that fall means football. :)
My only problem with fall in Georgia is that it arrives so late and is so quickly followed by ("w" word deleted).

You do realize that some(I was going to say most but....) of the posters on this page grew up when your mouth was washed out with soap if you said a four letter word, don't you, so keep it up and you may, I said may, experience an old time treatment from somebody.

I have to ts that change color. I'm still waiting for my fig trees to ripen and then come the mangoes after that!

The first couple weeks when the trees start to change colour are beautiful.
But later on, the leaves piled along the curb become a real hazard, particularly when they are wet.
