Both bikes are in pristine out of the box condition having hung upside down from hooks in my dark, dry and cool basement for 33 years. I just now have brought both of them out into the light of day and a certified bike technician performed a complete checkup and adjustment. He was amazed at their fine condition and had never seen bikes this old in such a perfect like new state.
Here are the two bikes virtually identical specifications as he related them to me following his detailed examination of all the parts.
Frames – 1024 High Tensile Steel
Rims – Ukai Chrome Steel - 25” Bike
Rims – Araya Chrome Steel – 21” Bike
Hubs – Sunshine Steel Bolt-On
Brakes – Dia Comp Center Pull
Front Deraillers – Suntour 7
Rear Deraillers – Suntour 7-GT (Grand Tourer)
Cranks & Chainrings – Miyata Cottered Steel Crank
Handlebars – SR Sakae
Stems – SR Sakae
Saddles – Ariake Padded Vinyl
Tires – 27 lb. High Pressure
Due to personal health issues I am no longer able to ride. So I am writing to solicit ideas on how best to dispose of these two gems. If that is what they really are. I have a felling they may be low end bikes, but in pristine condition for their age
Any and all ideas of there worth in Maryland and the DC area would be appreciated.
Also, where might I find manuals for them?
