Bicycle Mechanics - Good deal on Park TS 2.2 truing stand over labor day weekend
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Just though some might be interested. At bike Nashbar they are on sale for $188 and there is a 20% off labor day coupon as well. That's around $151. They are over $200 everywhere else. The next best truing stands are around $100 and appear to be crap in comparison. Snagged me one today.

at 151 it is REALLY close to wholesale cost, get one if you are looking. really go get one
About how much did they ding you for shipping? I notice oversize charges apply...
Shipping is $20. Don't forget too, if you live in a state that has a Performance Bike shop ... you have sales tax too. Many places sell it for $179 shipped, no tax every day. Nashbar/Performance shipping is about the slowest you'll see.
I noticed the price says $188 on their site, but 209 in your cart. Nashbar does this stuff all the time. You have to call them to get it straightened out. .... and their customers service is pretty poor. Sorry for the dump ....... but I used to shop at Nashbar a lot in the late 90's, early 2000's, and they were good to deal with. Then they went to heck. Since joined with Performance, it's gotten worse.
No disrespect to the messenger !

I always use froogle to find the best retail prices online.
OK, You can get it at other online stores (who I have never heard of) for the same total cost. If I had known I might have gambled on one or the other - they appear to be nice local businesses.
I got my stand today. I had no problem wiith the nashbar shopping cart or their delivery or service - maybe I got lucky. I had never shopped them before.
In any case, I was almost near purchasing one of these flimsier stands that I probably wouldn't have been happy with, for near $100. The park pro is worth the extra cost but I wouldn't have wanted to spend over $200 on one. Its good to know
