okay, so now that i have my new van dessel rear wheel, i need to know which cogs are compatible with the threads on the hub. i'm assuming that just something like a dura ace cog will work; but i know a few people in here have experience with this, so i thought i'd ask. i'm going to the LBS to order some parts tomorrow, so it's sort of important for me to figure this out soon. any of your help is greatly appreciated.

Call up Van Dessel. They gave me all sorts of info when I called them.

Dura Ace or anything not Campy should work.
Mine came with a 16t, but the newer bikes have an 18t instead.

i looked in their catalog, and the only lockrings i saw were the surly and a campy one. i guess i could ask about one, though. are the surlys unreliable?

Harris Cyclery has the Dura Ace lockrings for $7.95.

(On a side note--those Campy's are soooooooo expensive. I paid about $32 for a Campy.)

The surlys don't have quite the quality of threads that the Dura-Ace does.
