It's called a Hon folder, developed by a Dr Hon from California. I have one of these. I believe he sold all rights to the maker of Dehon.

so it's not a Dahon Classic 3?
The brake for the rear is on the left if that makes a difference (english?)

I was just given an old Raleigh 20 folding bike for my birthday. I had a Raleigh 20 when I was a kid, (not a folding one), and I think my friends were a little sick of hearing me go on about it so they went out and found me one. My first ride down the very large hill from my house into town on my brand-new-old-bike, the brakes broke. I survived. I had a rest, bought a new brake cable and continued on my ride. I think I'll now need to look into making some minor adjustments to it - and in the meantime it gets folded into the boot of the car and safely transported to the bottom of the hill. I love folding bikes.
Just got a raliiegh 20 it is completly original it even has the owners manual with it. I think i am going to change the rims and the seat but it looks so cool the way it is I am going To try to leave the rest original.Any sugestions on rims?
Raleigh 20's and their variants are great bikes and have quite the cult following...
Their biggest issue is braking and replacing the steel wheels with alloy ones will make quite a difference as will replacing the brakes with stiffer units.
The things you can do with an R20 are limitless... I have 3 of them.
Forrest the fixed gear... a 1973 Phillip's 20

The SO's completely stock 1974 Raleigh 20 - new wheels are in the works.

Grace... Forrest's sister. She is sporting a custom dual drive.

What beautiful bikes you have... I now need to find another one myself, as someone stole Rosie (my birthday R20) from the boot of my car last week. I'm still devastated. For the next one, I'll be looking at replacing the brakes first off before doing any downhill runs - and it won't be in the boot of my car for any amount of time.

Blue with most black parts fixed gear (52t x 13) tiny terror, which I enjoy commuting (8 miles each way) in, and it even once placed 3rd in a street sprint against other fixies on South Beach, Miami, FL.
People always take a double look when I speed on by them. She's so much fun!

@ The Remix (http://www.bikeforums.net/member.php?u=130698) Imo it's Dahon Classic III(look for them on Flicker). David Hon is the original designer of Dahon (hence Dahon).

As a newby: I have three bikes. A dutch Gazelle (large and heavy steel classic model), a old but nice Giant ATB (XTC2 - 2001 or a bit later) and for this forum a nice Dahon MU SL. No pictures yet. I never had any driverslicense and public transport is not my thing (if I have to I will take a train), so cycling is what I do every day for about the last 50 years.

foldable bikes are pretty rad! how heavy are they?

about 18lbs to about 30 lbs depending on bike, and choice of equipment components.

@ rtistikvelocity (http://www.bikeforums.net/member.php?u=159208) The folding Dahon weighs 9 kilo; the Giant around 12,5 kilo and the Gazelle more than 20 kilo. Because I have to carry the Dahon three narrow stairs up/down the weight was an important consideration. I'm very pleased with it, it rides like a dream, and for me the price was oké because I bought the bike within an employee benefit programm which means I got the bike about 40% cheaper than normal (Dutch) price.
Here is a pic of my Mu XL Sport 2007 fitted with BA 2,35". It's a tight fit. 1-2 mm clearance only. I use Belair FX saddle with flex zone. And the MG1 Magnesium/Titanium pedals which I highly recommend.

You need some mud guards on that!

I use detachable mudguards from SKS. Anyway, here in Berlin we got quite dry weather.

bhkyte and makeinu and all others: I left the west coast and drove back east under really bad conditions. However, once home I continued my "study" of folding bikes and visited many web sites seeking info............I even entered a contest for a folding bike................and.......................
Larry Lagarde from rideTHISbike.com called me on 4/22 to tell me that I had WON!!!
Now I don't have to fret anymore about which brand to get- I am getting an E-Z Pack folding bike which is lightweight and sounds just perfect for me to tool around town with.
It will arive next week. I am so happy and excited. I will keep you updated.
See, I didn't forget you guys!

She is already faster than her garage mate Forrest.

Well I have looked at the add for this bike and it looks exactly like my EZ Fold, 16"" wheel bike, only mine is a 6 speed. It is ok, but prefere my 7speed Dahon. Lighter than the Dahon, and easier to pack and carry though.

Forrest got his spring clean and polish, some new tyres, and a new chain and is running great.
I have been riding around on my other Twenty (Grace) a fair bit and just took an order to build another just like her albeit with a 3 speed coaster hub in the rear which solves the braking issue quite nicely.
I think I could sell every R20 / P20 folder I got my hands on as they are becoming immensely popular here and they are abundant... Raleigh made more 20 inch bikes than any other model.
Hi All,
New on here. Previous bikes include a Pashley Moulton APB S7 separable and as a kid several years on an indestructible Dawes Kingpin Junior (non folder), but no genuine folders until I bought my new Pacific Reach the other week, identical to this except mine has a rack (which folds with the bike and acts as a stand- clever) mudguards (the front one of which stops you folding the bike- not clever) and I have already had a 42T chain ring etc. fitted next to the original 56T to help me get up the gradients in my local area of Cornwall:

Using the search function gives me the impression I am the first owner of a Reach on here? But somehow I doubt it...

I took The Girl's Twenty down to the shop today to install some new brake levers and gave it a thorough polishing so that it just glows.
The XT levers, new front brake, alloy wheels, and Kool Stop pads have come together really nicely to give this bike some pretty decent stopping power and the ride is fabulous.
I figured it warranted some better pictures...

Way to go niggle! .. those are terrific bikes and quite understated on the forums.. I have both the Road and the City models .. there are a few of us on the board who own Pacific Reach bikes .. try this SEARCH (http://www.bikeforums.net/search.php?searchid=6024257) for more info..
Thought I'd post my Flyby. Took this photo at Hollywood Highland. It wasn't the clearest day, but you might be able to make out the Hollywood sign in the background. Took a bus, rode the orange bus line then the metro Red line to get there. Multi mode is great.

I was wondering about something simular doing to a curve.I am considering fitting the drops upsidedown and then cut them down into lowprfile type(bullhorns?). Then i can use the QR on the handle bar stem to point them downwards for folding. Hopefully folding them inside the two frame sections. Anyone done this , any problems ?
that's how the speed pro TT is setup. with bull horns and such.

Could work. Problems may arise with brake levers and probably with shifters.
I can think of sticking the bullhorns through the spokes. Might work if you have tiny brake levers (not STI). And shifters that do not get in the way of the wheels. The beauty of this idea is that it does not require to use any of the handlebar quick releases.
might work better with other models. it doesn't seem possible to get the drop bars to work with this 07' vitesse when folded, even with a chopped steerer.
the grip shift being mounted in that position doesn't help at all, but the bars would go under the wheels when folded.

I sort of use this method already on my mezzo with bull horns and STI. I need a front wheel with less spokes ideally, but have not got round to this yet.
I love to see if it can be done better on the curve

Just taken the Pacific Reach for its longest ride so far, 53 miles around Cornwall up (and down!) some pretty severe gradients and it was excellent, only problem being a slight tendency to lift the front wheel when pushing up a steep hill, but compensated by leaning well forward for the worst one which appeared about 1:4  . My old APB Moulton was worse for this, as well as bouncing up and down at the front with every pedal stroke on the hills: the Reach never bounced in the slightest. I think some front panniers would be quite desirable on the Reach for touring though and will take a little fettling to fit to the unusual trailing link fork.
