Clipless pedals Shimano A530 Vs Shimano M324

I am trying to decide between two Shimano clipless pedals.
The Shimano A530
https://www.amazon.com/Shimano-PD-A53...=1IR94O32E7E4Q

or the Shimano M324
https://www.amazon.com/Shimano-PD-M32...ef=pd_sbs_sg_1

Can you guys give me your pro's and con's on these pedals.

Thank you

I love my 334s. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat - they look and work like regular pedals when you need them, and clipless when you want to.

That's also a decent price for a quality pedal.

The 324s are also easier to use with regular shoes.

I just switched out my beat old 324's for 530's. The 324's did o.k., but they're heavier, and the finish on the outside rusted pretty quickly. I much prefer the 530; it's lighter, no worries about rust (except in the clip; doesn't really show), and it looks a lot less Fred.

The only reason you might choose the 324 is if you do a lot of riding in regular shoes. The 324 platform side is a bit wider, and has more teeth to hold your shoe on. I tried the 530 in running shoes, and it was fine. I mostly ride in mountain shoes, and use the platform side to be unclipped in high traffic spots.

I have 520s. I think you should get the 530s, and then we'll trade.

I switched from platform pedals and toe clips to clipless maybe four months ago. I've used my bike without cleated shoes twice since then, both for about a mile at a time. The 324 looks great, 'cause you can ride in your tennis shoes and not deal with the "special" ones that aren't as comfortable to walk in ... but once you sprint or climb a hill clipped in, you really won't want to bike in tennis shoes.

The 530 is going to weigh less than the 324, which may or may not matter to you.

I have been using the A530's for a couple of years primarily in the clip in mode, however, I also ride problem free in just sneakers or clipped out around heavy traffic areas.

Now I prefer to be clipped in, whereas at one time a few years ago I wasn't too keen on it.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again or use them on another bike.
I haven't used theM324's.

Another vote for the A530's. I use them with both clips (for my daily rides) and with tennis shoes for errands. Great pedals
