Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

hey. so i bought a pair of cheng shin gum-wall tires (700c x 25) for a fairly cheap price and after less than a week...i already have skid patches down to the "meshing". i understand that i'm new to fixies so i'm excessively skidding to get used to the fixed gear, but i'm pretty sure this tire should last longer than this. does anyone have a good recommendation for a rear tire? not some billion-dollar continental tire preferably

New tire always goes to the front, put your front tire to the rear and put the new one on the front.

schwalbe marathons. seriously the most bomb-proof tires ever, especially if yr going to be riding brakeless.

Poor rims. They did not die a quick, painless death.

You've got a front brake, use it.
