Bicycle Mechanics - Replacing a 50t chainring with a 48t

from the bike website, this is my front crank: TruVativ Touro Cross aluminum arms, TruShift 36/50T Chainring, 110BCD
Want to replace the top-end 50t ring with a 48 or even a 46.

I'm thinking it should be pretty much a straight bolt up. You'll probably want to lower your front derailleur just a skosh. You'll get slightly better shifting if your new chainring has "shifting aids" built into it. Your small chainring is probably just a flat ring now so you shouldn't have to worry about whether they match.

I think the original Touro crankset had shift pins on the outer chainring, so you might notice slightly worse shifting action. I doubt you'll notice the change after the first day, though. If it does become a problem, 48-tooth, 110mm bolt pattern chainrings with shift pins are available:

your LBS can supply an aftermarket chainring to suit your needs ,
Retail shop, Harris orders from QBP,
( the wholesale distributor , that supplied that picture)
and so can your local shop.. most have a QBP account.
If your front derailleur is a braze-on type there could be a problem getting it low enough.
