I have just ordered a steel frame and an Edge carbon fiber fork. The fork is entirely CF. Is there a better headset for CF fork/steer tube or do most of the headsets work just as well on metal or CF?
Headsets are not specific to the type of steer tube material.
But with a CF steer tube it is important to use the right type of compression plug. Usually the plug comes with the new fork.

Most headsets will not come with a compression plug but with a star nut still.

That's correct but the star nut must NOT be used in a carbon steerer tube. If a suitable compression plug doesn't come with the fork, get one from your LBS or a mail order/internet dealer. FSA and Profile Designs make suitable ones.

I was told the compression plug would be with the fork, an Edge 2.0. I am now thinking of using the Cane Creek 110.
