We are an Australian couple in our 50s ( new to this site) wishing to cycle the Moselle and Rhine Rivers, commencing Trier and perhaps terminating in Bacharach. We wish to do this ourselves however we would love to know where we can hire bikes. My research has indicated that it is difficult to hire in one place and return bikes to another. Does anyone know a place that may do this and if this impossible any tips on how to go about it.
We would love to hear about similiar trips that any member has made , the pitfalls and the positives. Any must stay and see places ? avoidances?. We have set aside about 10 days but can stay more than one night in any place if it is recommended.
We have not done a cycling trip before but are both very fit and active and are not daunted by the actual cycling. However we would love some help with itinerary ( we have 9 overnight places picked out) places to stay , what to take and how to organise bikes and equipment. Any blogs, web sites, information and publicationsv would be gratefully read and appreciated.
In other words all help and idea gratefully recieved.
