Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

They've had 50,000 rides in the first few months they've been available. Don't know if that's good or not but it sounds impressive. ;)

I think that's a pretty good number. NYC has been talking about a bike sharing program for a while too. I bet it'll get heavy use. So far, from what I have read, all cities that implemented it announced a success.
Wife and I go to Montreal frequently. They've got a program and it seems to have exploded, use-wise, since they started it. Two weeks ago we walked by one rack in Mile End (a more residential area) around 6PM on a Friday and the rack was completely full. Dozens of bikes. They have trucks to distribute the bikes evenly, too.
One would expect vandalism but it doesn't seem to be happening.

Does anyone know what they will do in the winter? Put the bikes in storage? Invest in some studs?
