Ok, get a load of this (spoiler alert):

Marcus Wright is a terminator hybridized to the point of having a human heart and brain. He's got a programmed mission, but still thinks he's human.

John Conner doesn't trust him. He's shocked that Skynet was able to build a machine that seems to really want to believe it's human. Unsure what to do, he starts listening to tapes his mother left him. She offers no clues as to how to deal with such a hybrid, closing with "Follow your heart, John."

After Wright saves his life, Conner agrees to let it go so it can take advantage of its terminator origin to infiltrate Skynet and free some prisoners. Conner will wait and help evacuate the prisoners. In the meantime, he follows Wright at a distance.

Big fight, lots of explosions, the usual molten metal stuff, and the good guys win, except John Conner, the leader of the resistance, is seriously wounded. He'll die if he doesn't get a heart transplant, but donors are rare in the post-apocalypse.

Ahh...but Wright, wishing to atone for the wrongs of his past human life and abandon the intent behind his cyborg reincarnation offers up his own heart.

So all this time Conner was following Wright, he was literally following his own heart (to be).

It's so brilliant I bet the writers never even thought of it!

I eagerly awaited this movie. Left the theatre opening night not sure what to make of it.

Watching it a second and third time on the TV I came to really like this movie.

I like all of them. In T3 when Arnold piledrives that chick into the toilet boil, that was just epic.

It was entertaining. Actually, I'd say better than T3, but in general trying a bit to hard and ending up a little cheesy with a slight taste of Michael Bay.

I thought the accidental heart connection was pretty funny, but I'm a bit crazy like that.

I started it on-demand the other day, no idea when I might pick it up again. Don't mind the spoiler.

I love all the terminators, with Salvation topping it off nicely.

The second one was by far my favorite, but it was watchable.

I liked the previous ones better, AND the TV series.

This is one franchise that can keep going and going. They can pick any point along the timeline and make a new movie about it.

As far as epic and impact on the audience, I think T2 was the best. Amazing effects beyond anything else at the time. Story was more exciting and suspenseful than the 1st one too.

I've got to agree with you there Danno. T2 was definitely my favorite. They also didn't get as carried away with the futuristic technology.

It seems there's a definite tendency in SciFi sequels (and James Bond movies) to one-up the technology of the prior editions, which eventually pushes the believability (and occasionally creates weird situations like R2D2 losing the ability to fly in later years, and going from hover tanks to "giant armored camels," to quote Seth McFarlane). Also, once you get too far into building a fictional universe, it gets hard to maintain consistency or meet expectations fans had of how things that weren't explained previously worked.

Ahh yes, Terminator: Salvation. Another movie that you wish you could un-see.

Actually - I have it on pause at the moment - waiting for my popcorn to be popped - it's pretty good. :D Thanks for the suggestion!
