Hi! I am restoring a c.1970 Legnano which has sat in a barn for thirty years. Before I gave it to my son, I built the bike myself, but that was 35 years ago. Now I am trying to relearn all the stuff I forgot. The bike has a Sugino crank and bottom bracket, which I believe are pretty faithful copies of Campy parts of the era. I have removed the dust caps and bolts. I have a Sugino crank removal tool, which screws into the dust cap housing of each crank. Then there's a narrow threaded nut inside this tool, which I believe should be tightened until it pushes the crank off the crankshaft. Am I right or wrong? The shafts don't budge, and I may be missing something vital (like information or a part of the tool). Once the cranks are off I have the Sugino bottom bracket tool, so I can go in and repack or replace the bearings.
