The article is on hiking, and local hiking at that, but the author mentions a local couple who hike and ride a lot: '"We try to do one activity a day," said Kitty, adding they have already biked over 1,000 miles this year.' They are both 81.

Hiking and biking compliment each other. It may not be in every aspect. It allows me to use my little digital camera and stop to enjoy the scenery more than if I were riding. Hiking is also a nice recovery day activity.
